When My Kitchen Chose You
Dear Kanchivaram,
I wasn’t looking for you today.
I was simply standing in my kitchen when a handful of red chillies caught my eye. Their deep crimson, resting against fresh green leaves, carried a colour story that felt strangely familiar.

And then I thought of you.
A rich chilli-red body. An emerald green korvai border. A pairing so rooted in our everyday life that we often forget how beautiful it is.
It reminded me of inspiration sometimes, it sits quietly on a kitchen counter, waiting for us to notice.
Perhaps that is why I am drawn to collecting you.
Not just because of your craftsmanship, but because you have a way of reflecting the world around me. The more I observe everyday life, the more I find pieces of you hidden within it.
Today, you reminded me that beauty doesn’t ask for extraordinary moments. It simply asks us to pay attention.
Until next Letter,
Love,
Vidhya
