There are journeys we complete.
And there are journeys that continue long after we return home.
For me, mountains have never been destinations to conquer. They have been places that taught me patience, humility, resilience, and wonder.
Why I Hike
People often ask me why I hike.
The honest answer is, I still don’t know.
I began hiking to prepare for a single mountain. Along the way, the mountains began changing me in ways I never expected. Each journey taught me something different—not through the summit, but through the people I met, the cultures I experienced, the landscapes I walked through, and the quiet moments that stayed with me long after I returned home.
My handloom journey unfolded in much the same way.
I started by collecting beautiful sarees, but over time I found myself drawn to the stories, craftsmanship, traditions, and people behind every weave.
Today, I no longer see these as two separate passions.
Both have taught me that beauty reveals itself to those who slow down enough to notice.
Whether I am walking a mountain trail or studying a handwoven textile,I continue to learn the same lesson—to slow down, observe more carefully, and appreciate the world a little more deeply.
These pages are not travel guides.
They are letters.
Letters from the mountains I have walked, the people I have met, the textile traditions I have encountered, and the woman I was becoming with every step.
Every journey introduced me to more than landscapes. It introduced me to communities, craftsmanship, history, and ways of seeing the world that continue to shape me long after I return home.
I don’t know where these journeys will lead.
And perhaps I no longer need to.
For now, it is enough to keep walking, keep observing, and keep writing the letters each mountain leaves behind.
If these letters encourage you to pause, look a little closer, or discover something you hadn’t noticed before, then perhaps we have shared part of the journey together.

- Walking the Trail – reflections from each day of the trek.
- The People I Met – the guides, porters, communities, and fellow travellers who became part of the experience.
- Textiles & Craft Traditions – the weaving, clothing, and craftsmanship that reveal the cultural identity of each place.
- The Legacy of the Place – the history, civilisation, and stories that continue to shape the landscape.
- What the Mountain Left Behind – the lessons I carried home and how the journey changed me.
- Photo Journal – moments that words cannot fully capture.

On the Horizon
Every completed journey becomes a letter.
Every unfinished dream remains quietly on the horizon.
There is another trail on my mind.
For now, it will remain a quiet promise to myself.
Perhaps one day, when my daughter reads these pages, she will not simply know where I travelled.
I hope she understands why I kept returning to the mountains.
